Freedom in Christ Month!

Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. John 8:36 NKJV In America, the month of June that has been declared ‘Gay Pride Month’.  This declaration was made by former President Clinton and expanded by President Obama. The impact has led to progressive destruction for the nation.  We have moved from gay pride to pride in all forms of non-heterosexual behavior. The month is now recognized by some as pride in a plethora of sexual choices…

A Prophet For Today

Many prophetic voices speak in America, perhaps more than in any other nation. Yet, we in the church and the national culture seem to reflect the days of Jeremiah, rather than Haggai.  As a ministry leader, I view prophetic voices as those who primarily encourage and edify the church, or those who primarily challenge and confront the nation and the culture. There are relatively few in the latter category today. Those that challenge the culture are experiencing great opposition spiritually…

No Going Back!

“Oh remnant of Judah, the Lord has told you, ‘do not go to Egypt’. Be sure of this: I warn you today…” ~ Jeremiah 42:19. In the days when Babylon conquered and exiled Israel and Judah, Jeremiah was a primary prophetic voice leading up to and immediately following the exile. Most of Judah, including the tribal leaders and key people of influence, were exiled to Babylon. However a small number of the poorer people were allowed to remain in Judah.…

Intimidation – The Tool of the Enemy

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. (Eph. 6:13)    As I have ministered recently on the topic of Living in the Kingdom of God amidst a Culture of Corruption, I am reminded of the warrior identity we have in Christ.  Much of the church in America is dressed as a wimp rather than a…

Gathering the Extreme Hearts

‘He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me, scatters (Luke 11:23).   Jesus’ words etched an image of stark contrast for those who had ears to hear.  Jesus never played down or softened the distinction between His kingdom and that of the world. He never nuanced His words to make everyone ‘feel good’. He used extreme language to draw extreme contrasts to illicit clear choices for, or against, Him and His kingdom.…

An Extreme Season For an Extreme Kingdom

Luke 9:61, 62 – Still another said, “I will follow you Lord; but first let me go back and say good-bye to my family.” Jesus replied, ‘No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God’.   Jesus spoke words of stark contrast with the culture of the day.  The Jewish culture was heavily oriented toward ‘family first’. The culture expected and even demanded certain behaviors reflecting their understanding of…

You Must Show Up If You Want To Eat!

The Holy Spirit and the bride (the church, true Christians) say ‘come!’  And let everyone come who is thirsty( who is painfully conscious of his need of those things by which the soul is refreshed, supported, and strengthened) and whoever earnestly desires to do it, let him come and take and appropriate (drink) the water of life without cost. (Amplified) Rev. 22:17.  This powerful scripture from the Apostle John brings a deeper understanding to the need for believers to eat…

Remnant, You Are Not Alone

Once more a remnant of the house of Judah will take root below and bear fruit above. For out of Jerusalem will come a remnant, and out of Mount Zion a band of survivors. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this. (2 Kings 19:30, 31) The prophet Isaiah spoke these words of encouragement to King Hezekiah. Just as Nehemiah was an apostolic forerunner leading a remnant to restore the nation, so was Hezekiah.  Nehemiah and Hezekiah give the…

Leaders Love the Unlovable

Leaders love the unlovable. Leadership is different than friendship. We choose our friends. We don’t always choose the people we lead. In fact leaders often lead people who seem unlovable. People come into our sphere of influence for various reasons, but two reasons are paramount; to bring influence into their lives and to bring their influence into our lives. This often stretches us as leaders. As people come into our sphere of influence our intrinsic leadership nature is to impart…

We extend our rule from the center of our territory.

We extend our rule from the center of our territory. The Lord said to Joshua; ‘I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon and from the great river, the Euphrates—all the Hittite country—to the Great Sea on the west.’ There are two elements to ruling territory; people and geography. This statement defined the outer boundaries of the geography that the people of God were…

Ruling Like The King – Stay Within Your Territory

Every king must stick to his assigned territory. The apostle Paul gave us a hint of the meaning of divine territory when he wrote his second letter to the Corinthian church. In regard to being commended for work done in the church he said, ‘We, however, will not boast beyond proper limits, but will confine our boasting to the field God has assigned to us, a field that reaches even to you.’ Every leader in the kingdom of God has…

Know Your Territory

You must know your territory before you can rule your kingdom. As a ‘king’ in the Kingdom, you will never rule your God-ordained territory unless you know the content and boundaries of that territory. Throughout history, kings have ruled territories. Saul, David, Solomon, Hezekiah, Josiah, and many others each ruled a territory; a human and geographic territory. People are the first expression of God-ordained territory. Without people, there is no need for land, no need for order, no need for…
